Udaipur, July 27, 2025: The first-ever Kanwar Yatra organized by the youth of the Nandwana Samaj in Udaipur was held this Sunday with great grandeur and devotion. The spiritual procession, dedicated to Maa Vankal, not only upheld the community’s religious traditions but also showcased a strong sense of unity and commitment.
The holy journey began with a warm welcome of Saint Shubhasdas Ji Maharaj, followed by traditional worship performed by young girls. A beautifully adorned tableau of Maa Vankal was presented with reverence, after which Shubhasdas Ji conducted a ritualistic puja, officially marking the commencement of the yatra.
Throughout the procession, the atmosphere was filled with the energetic beats of DJ music, bands, and traditional instruments. Devotees chanted “Har Har Mahadev” as they walked in unison, showcasing youthful enthusiasm and unwavering faith. Locals along the route greeted the yatra with flower showers and loud cheers, adding vibrant color to the spiritual journey.
The main ceremony was held at the Suptvesar Mahadev Temple, Jagannath Dham, where the kanwariyas offered the sacred Ganga water to Lord Shiva through an elaborate Jalabhishek. Under the guidance of Acharya Vinay Shastri, around 1,000 liters of holy water were used for this divine ritual, symbolizing the community’s deep devotion.
The atmosphere was further elevated by devotional chants like “Jai Bholenath” and “Jai Shankar Bholenath”, along with soul-stirring bhajans presented by the Matrushakti Mandal, touching every devotee’s heart and reinforcing spiritual sentiments.
After the puja, all the pilgrims gathered back at the Maa Vankal temple premises, where a community feast was organized. It was a joyful occasion where people from all generations came together, shared their experiences, and pledged to continue supporting such sacred events in the future.
This first Kanwar Yatra was not just a religious event, but a powerful reflection of the Nandwana community’s values, culture, and togetherness. It brought together youth and elders alike in a common spirit of faith, service, and celebration.
Heartfelt thanks to all volunteers, organizers, devotees, and local residents who contributed to making this yatra a memorable success.
Jai Mata Di! Har Har Mahadev!
